The Fall of Sejanus is a scathing critique of corruption, abuse of power, and a tyrant’s weaponization of the law against his enemies in imperial Rome. See the rise and fall of an emperor’s ambitious right-hand man, in the play that led author Ben Jonson to face allegations of treason.
The play, originally titled Sejanus His Fall, first performed in London in 1603. Ben Jonson is widely considered one of the greatest playwrights of renaissance England. Learn more about the play!
Seating is general admission.
Note: For Friday performances, it is more likely that sound from the coffee house will be audible inside the theater, as The Well is open to the public on Fridays. On Saturdays and Sundays, The Well is open only for patrons of The Fall of Sejanus.
